Notes – Isabella was the daughter of Janet (nee McGlaughlin) and James King. The location and date of her birth are unknown at this stage. It is known that her father, James was living in Marong, Victoria at the time of her wedding.

Isabella King married Peter Bertrue on Christmas day 1877, although it appears the registration of the marriage was not processed until 1878. The couple had four children, Janet Isabella, Peter Fredrick, Edwin James and Mary. Isabella and Peter appear on the following roll reports: 1903 Morwell, Victoria with Peter (contractor) Isabella is listed as Home Duties and in the 1910 City Directory Peter is listed as a carter at Morwell.

The couple moved from Morwell, Victoria to Tara in 1909 with their eldest two children, Janet and Peter. The rolls show them in 1909 at Undulla Creek, Tara with Peter Jnr. and James; 1913 and 1916 at Myra Isabella, Peter, Janet and Peter Fredrick.

Isabella passed away three days after her husband Peter. The couple had been married for forty years. Her two children Peter and Janet remained at Myra for some years after the deaths of their parents.

Isabella shares a headstone with her husband, the inscription reads – In loving memory of our parents Peter Bertrue Aged 80 years Died 9th November 1917 Isabella Bertrue Died 12th November, 1917.
