Notes – Brian Denis Brauer was born to local graziers Joyce Mary (nee Burton) and Alex Brauer on 20th May, 1956.

One morning, while his mum was getting smoko ready for the workers, Brian went for a walk with the dog. The dog jumped into the dam and Brian followed it into the water. Tragically, being only seventeen months old, he was unable to swim and young Brian died from drowning.

His parents had four other children, Maree, Michael, Gayle and Teresa.

From 1958 to 1962 Alex and Joyce lived with John Brauer at Woodlea. In 1963 they are listed at Merindah, Undulla Creek, Tara and in 1977 they are both registered as living at 6 Day St, Tara as retailers. In the 1980s they left Tara and moved to Hervey Bay.

The inscription on Brian’s headstone reads – In Loving Memory of Brian Denis Brauer. Son of Alex & Joyce. Aged 1 year 5 months, 4 days. 24th October, 1957.
