Notes – Andrew, known as Andy, was one of the original settlers of Tara. His brother Daniel, (Dan) his mother and sister Mary Ann arrived in the district soon after Andrew.

Andy appeared on the census records in 1915 by himself at Tara via Warra. He travelled to Victoria in 1916 and there he married Roseanna Hartin. In 1925 Andy, Roseanna and his brother Dan were living at Tara via Warra. Roseanna died on the 6th August, 1929. Her sister, Mrs Quast of Victoria, sued Andy for 475 pound, stating Roseanna give him a loan in 1923 and it was not paid back. Mrs Quast was successful in her bid to have Andy pay the money back.

The 1934 and 1938 rolls have Andy living by himself at Tara. He moved to Dalby to live with his sister Mary Ann when his health began to fail. He was in hospital for approximately 14 weeks before he passed away in 1938.

Records show his sister Mary Ann Spacey had his will finalised by the 17th September 1938. Therefore, the council records which state Andy died in 1943 appear to be incorrect.

FITZGERALD, Andrew has no headstone to mark his final resting place.
