Notes – James was born to Francis Hannah (nee Rogers) and John Graham in 1847 in Canada. His parents were originally from Scotland. John Graham earned his living as a cooper. The family arrived in Australia on the Indian Queen from England in 1853. James had one sister Rebecca.

James married Emma Ward in 1881 in Victoria. They had six children. John, Robert, Hannah Maude, Charles Murdoch, Rebecca Blanche and Helena Ruby. In 1910 the family moved from Wangaratta in Victoria to the Tara district, settling at Undulla Creek.

A paragraph appeared in the Dalby Herald about his funeral on August 15, 1922. His daughter Helena Ruby married local man William McLeod and his daughter Rebecca is buried next to him.

James has a headstone on his grave and the inscription reads – In loving Memory of James Graham. Died 11th August, 1922. Aged 75 Years.
