Notes – Baby John was born to Violet (Vi) Emily (nee Luhrs) and Francis Maxwell (Max) Harwood on the 12th April, 1947 and he died the very next day. John had one brother Jeffery and possibly a sister.

His mother Mrs Vi Harwood, owned the Modern Trend store in Day Street, Tara for many years. His father Max Harwood, served in the Royal Australian Air Force during WWII and after the war he worked at Modern Motors. In 1977 the family lived at 6 Sara Street, Tara.

Both the Harwood and Luhrs families had been in the district for many decades before little John was born. The Luhrs once owned Thuruna and the Harwoods had sawmills and were selectors.

John has a headstone on his small grave which reads – In loving Memory of John Harwood Died April 13th 1947.
