Notes – Ernest Allan was born to Lillian Josephine (nee Margin) and Ronald Ernest Howlett in May 1952. His parents had married in Sydney on the 3rd of October, 1948.

His father Ronald was a mechanic and in 1949 he was working as such and living at 37 Ware St, Blacktown, NSW. Young Ernest died when he was only five months old. Ronald and Lillian put a thank you notice in the Courier Mail after the little fellow died to thank friends and family for their support.

While working as a mechanic in Tara, Ronald was called to testify against a man who worked briefly at the same place and stole a ute and tools etc over the Christmas of 1951. The ute was discarded in Sydney and the man was arrested in Adelaide. It’s a big story, read it here.

In 1954 the rolls indicate the couple were living in Milne Street, Tara. They moved back to New South Wales and by 1962 were living at Flat 2/ 8 Holt St, Green Valley, New South Wales and Ronald was still working as a mechanic.

Ernest Allan Howlett has a headstone on his small grave and the inscription reads – In Loving Memory of Ernest Allan Howlett. Died 1st October, 1952 aged 5 months.
