Notes – William’s parents Mary Taldora Steele and William Robertson married on the September 26, 1901. He had a brother Frederick Douglas born 1903 and a sister Honor Mary born 1905.

He has no headstone, and the police guessed he looked 45. We only know that he was working at Hannaford, ringbarking for Baileys and he had been away for a week or so and come back after being on a bender.  The newpaper story will explain it all. A very sad way to decide to go. Poor bugger.

He seems to have had a few occupations as shown in his electoral roll records of 1928 Atherton living at the Railway Hotel and he was a labourer. 1928 he was at Cairns at 21 Clare Street and he was a butcher, and 1930 he was at Mount Isa and was mining.

William has no headstone.
