Notes – Bessie Sutton O’Connor was born to Maria (nee Hanlon) and Michi O’Connor in 1880 in Victoria. By 1903 Bessie and her mother Maria where living at Toowoomba.

In 1907 Bessie married William Thomas Sheehan in Queensland. They had three children, William, Mervyn and Betty. In Betty’s engagement notice in the newspapers in 1944, it is noted that both her parents had died and her mother Maria had been previously living at Clonard, Meandarra.

Bessie has census records of 1903 at Middlae Ridge with Maria and Eanie all home duties, then from 1909 to 1943 with William at Sutton Grange, Meandarra and 1944 at Clonard, Meandarra. It’s a bit dissapointing that not much information was recorded in the day on the female population.

Bessie Sutton Sheehan shares a double grave with her husband William Thomas Sheehan. There is no headstone.
