Notes – Emily was born in 1881 to Alfred and Susannah Grummitt. She came from a large family. Her siblings were James William Grummitt 1883, Harriett 1879, Ethel 1885, George 1886, William 1896, Ada 1889, Amy 1890, Mabel 1894 , Pauline 1898, Herbert 1900, Ivy 1902 and Mary 1905. Whew.

She married Lawrence Smallbone on the 11th April, 1910. They had three children, Lawrence Alfred (Alfred) 1911-1957, Amy Hurford and Dorothy Emily, before Lawrence died in July 1926.

Her daughters married into the Bouchier and McNamara Families from the district. Lawrence jnr didn’t marry as far as I can find.

Emily left her estate to Alfred. There is a will available for those who want it. Emily was friends with my Grandparents while they lived and worked in Glenmorgan. Emily spent her life around Glenmorgan and Meandarra, living at Bush Home when she died. She received probate of 1976 pounds in 1939.

Emily has a headstone that reads – In Loving Memeory of Our dear Mother Emily Smallbone Died April 14th, 1938 Aged 56 years.
