Notes – Lawerence was born to Emily and Lawrence Smallbone on December 25, 1910. Merry Christmas. His siblings were Amy Hurford, Dorothy Emily, Ursula Mary, Emily May and brother Frank who was born and died on 26th June 1894 and is buried at Crows Nest.
He spent his early years around Gayndah before moving to Meandarra with his family. He worked as a stockman for many years but on his Army enlistment form in May 1942 he lists his occupation as Graizer and he has his sister Amy Bouchier as his next of kin. I am not sure if he actually went anywhere with the Army because it has him as being discharged as medically unfit before 1943.
His census records are 1937 with Amy Hurford and Emily at Meandarra, 1949 He is at Meandarra stockman and in 1954 he is still at Meandarra and a stockman.
He was a witness in a assult case in 1954, stating that he was a single man still. He lived at Bush Home, Meandarra.
Lawrence has a headstone that reads – In Loving Memory of Our Dear Brother Lawrence Alfred Smallbone Died 5th April 1957 Aged 46 years.
