Notes – Dorothy Henrietta was born to Sarah Josephine (nee Nicol) and George Smith at Muswellbrook, NSW in 1888.

Her electoral roll details show her as performing Home duties in the Jundah and Longreach areas for 15 years. The census records show – 1915 and 1917 Jundah Retreat, Home Duties, 1921 to 1930s at Rosebank, Longreach.

When she left Longreach she moved back to her parents home at Tara, she took over looking after her parents and caring for them, as they both became bed ridden. From 1934 to 1953 the census records have her at Tara, Home duties.

She was a woman who was involved in a lot of charity works and was a founding member of the Tara Golf Club, being their secretary for years. Her brothers were both working as mechanics in Tara. Dorothy never married.

Dorothy is buried near her parents and her headstone inscription reads – In loving memory of Dorothey Henrietta Smith. Died 28th January. 1953 Aged 64 years.
