Notes – Edward Alfred (known as Ted) was born to Catherine and William Henry Smith  in 1862. He had siblings William, Henry, Mary, Charles, Catherine and Annie and three half sisters. His father changed his name from Spinks to Smith on Jan 1, 1845 possibly because of his convict record.

Anyway, Edward married Adelaide Plant in 1907 at Gunbower, Victoria. They had seven living children when they moved to Tara. Their names were Lousia, Ida, Edith, George Leslie, Stanley and Adeline.

The census records for Edward show he selectted Bon Accord on the Undulla Creek in 1907 and lived there until approximately 1947  before moving to Ipswich to retire. In 1949 moved to Ipswich Rd, Annerley. By this time his son then owned Dandaloo.

He shares a headstone with his wife Adelaide and the inscription reads – In Loving Memory of My dear wife Adelaide Smith 1866 – 1940 and Our dear father Edward A Smith 1862 – 1951.

The foot of the grave has E.A. written in the tiles because he was known as E.A. or Ted.
