Notes – Charles Theodore Ernest was born in 1869 in Queensland to Fredreike Wilhelmine Emitie (nee Hess) and Carl August Sommerfeld. He was born into a large family and his siblings were Heinrich, Edward, Robert, David, Charlotte, Walter, Emma, Wilhelm and Christina.

He married Anna Lousia Heyder on November 16, 1897 in Queensland and their son Theodore was born in 1899, Lorris Celia in 1902 and Louis in 1911 but sadly he died soon after his birth.

Charles was a selector at Chinchilla until about 1912 when he has a complete job change to become a billiard marker?

His census records show him from 1905 to 1912 Chinchilla, Selector with Anna, 1913 Morven, job as a billiard marker (a person who attends on players at billiards and records the progress of the game. A different type of job to be sure).

In 1911 he had a victualler licence transferred to him at Yeulba and by 1931 his son Theodore was living and working as a labourer in Tara, but there is no mention on the electoral rolls for Charles. It is unclear if he was living in Tara at the time of his death or just visiting.

Charles has no headstone.
