Notes – George Turner was born in 1892 at either Yeulba or Chinchilla, Queensland to Mary (nee Laverty) and Henry Turner. He came from a very large family as he had siblings Henry, John, Fred, Edward, Mary , Margaret, William, Sarah, Edward (first one died a baby), James, Millie, Elizabeth and Edith.

George Turner married Lillian (Lily) Smith on the 7th January, 1924 and they had at least six children, Dorothy, John 1924, Joan 1926, Wilfred, Margaret and Ronald.

The 1952 electoral roll shows George as a contractor at Tara and Lily as a housewife at Milne Street, Tara. It appears they came to Tara around 1943.

George shares a headstone with his wife Lily that says – In Loving Memory of George Turner Passed away 13th January, 1952 Aged 59 Years.
