The 1930 and 1942 census, have the family as living at Warwick. Both Bertie and his bother William Bligh and their families were living at Sussex Downs, Moonie at the time of the tragic accident which caused one brother to lose his twin daughters and the other brother to lose his son.
Kevin and his cousins, twins Kathleen and Mary and their younger sister Maureen were going to a dance at Meandarra. when their vehicle hit a pothole, veered off the road and crashed. Maureen was the sole survivor. Her twin sisters, Kathleen and Mary together with their cousin Kevin were killed instantly.
They were obviously a very close group of young people who loved to socialise and attend local dances.
