Notes – Gilbert Innes Bogle was born in Dunbartonshire, Scotland. At the time of his birth his father William, was forty-two and his mother Jane, was twenty-five. He was one of eight children and his siblings were Charles, James, Arch, William, Jane, Bessie and Violet. When he was five years of age the family set sail for Australia aboard the Wacousta, arriving in 1853 .

Gilbert was living in Victoria in 1881 when he married Elizabeth Shearer. They made their first home at Bendigo where they commenced to raise their four children, Gilbert Innes, Archibald James, Violet Euphemia and Kennedy Cassillis Bogle.

Eventually the family moved to Queensland and settled in the Tara district. At the time of his death, Gilbert was living on his property, Cassillis in Tara.

Gilbert and his wife Elizabeth share a headstone. The inscription on the headstone reads – In loving Memory of Our dear father Gilbert Innis Bogle Died February 12th 1917 and Our dear mother Elizabeth Bogle Died July 7th, 1935.
