Notes – Mary Johnstone Miller was born at Pyramid Hill, Victoria in September, 1867 and she was the daughter of Margaret Black (nee Ower) and William Reddie.

Thomas Stark Miller married Mary at Pyramid Hill on April 4, 1893. The couple had five children, Eva Jane (1894), Ernest Stanley (1897), Albert Louis (1901), Beryl Elsie Rosa (1907) and John Stark (1910).

Mary and Thomas were amongst the original settlers who moved to the Tara district. During her lifetime in the Tara district, Mary was very well liked as was recorded in her obituary.

Two and a half years after the death of her husband Thomas, Mary also passed away. Mary shares her headstone with her husband Thomas and the inscription  on their grave reads: In loving Memory of Thomas S Miller Died 30th January, 1935 Aged 72 years and Mary Johnstone Miller Died 24th July 1937 Aged 69 years.
