Notes – Esther Margaret was born in 1878 to James and Elizabeth (nee McConnell) Adams. She came into a large family with siblings – Jane, James, Jane, William, Margaret, Elizabeth, John, Robert, Agnes and Andrew Watt (who is buried at No 27 near her). Some of her siblings died when they were infants.

She was only two when her mother died and her father remarried and had more children – Violet, Henry, Jessie and another William.

Esther married John Schutt on the 21st February, 1900. They had 11 chidren – Phillis Edna 1901, Christina Elizabeth 1902, Winifred Agnes 1904, Hans Ernest 1906, Ester May 1907, Minnie Lillilan 1909, Jean Myra 1911, Ena Isabell 1913, John Alexander 1915, James Ronald 1916 and Anna Margaret 1918.

From information received from Esther’s daughter Ena Isabell in her later years, the family came from Bendigo in 1908 on a ship called Yongala. It was a bad weather trip and they were happy to arrive at Brisbane and catch the train to Warra. They were a part of the Myra Group who settled in the Tara district at that time.

Census records state Esther was at Hoilstein Park from 1913 to 1919 with John and Albert Theredore (however Albert Theodore does not appear on the next census). By 1930 Esther with Christina and Phyliss had a large garden, which no doubt was serviced by her husbands many bee hives. She and John celebrated their 50th Golden Wedding Anniversary in 1950.
