Notes – Martha Emily was born to Emily Sarah (nee Moore) and Jabez Diver in 1839 in Norfolk , England. She had at least two sisters, Harriet and Rebecca. She also had a brother called Johanadab who died as a teenager and two other brothers, Jabez and Charles who died as infants.

It appears Martha came to Australia with her mother and sister Harriet in 1856 aboard the ship Donald McKay. She married David Sharp in her parents home at Praham, Victoria in 1864.

Martha and David had the following children – Alfred Herbert, Edwin David, James, Sarah, Margaret, William and Alexander.

Martha appears on a few census records including 1903 at Boweya, Victoria then with David and Sarah in 1908 at Echuca, where David was recorded as a creamery manager. From 1912 to 1926 Martha was at Vickery Park, Moonie River, Tara. 1912 records had her with William, Alfred, Annie, David and Sarah.
