Notes – William John was born to Martha Emily (nee Diver) and david Sharp in 1873 at Prahran, Victoria. He had siblings of Sarah, Jeffery, Edwin, Margaret, Alfred Herbert and Alex who died as a baby.

William married Annie Elizabeth Chappell on the 29th June, 1911 in Queensland. His family lived at Vickery Park, Tara from at least 1909. He ended up with it becoming his property.

His daughter Laura helped to support the dairying. His brother Alfred killed himself in 1939 at the property.

William was elected into the Tara Shire Council in 1924 with Mr Alfred Weitzel and Fredrick Steinohrt.

William has a headstone that reads – William Sharp who passed away 1946 Aged 73 years. A Closer Settlement Pioneer.

SHARP, William John is buried beside his daughter Laura and grandson Keith.
